March 1st, the crew leveled and added ballast to another segment of track.

On March 16th, our Scott from Scott's Tractor Service cleared out the remaining trees where our car barn is to be built. He then went on to do preliminary clean up of the yard area. His machine makes short work of removing trees and debris.

Meanwhile, Kevin, Scott's brother began prepping and spreading sub-base material on the loop that goes around the yard area.

On March 22nd, our car barn is under construction. Floor area is prepared (left) and conduit run for power (lower left). Picture below shows Sanford yard area, from throat, with car barn in the background. Sanford is the northern terminus of our railroad

Also, the road bed work on the loop around Sanford continued. Below, spoil from the car barn area is used as fill in part of the loop. Finally, our crushed concrete base was spread then compacted.

March 29th, we began assembly of a ballast bunker, built a switch and cleared for future steaming bays.
